National digital library
Ministry of Human Resource Development under its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology has initiated the National Digital Library (NDL) pilot project to develop a framework of virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. NDL is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for leading vernacular languages (currently Hindi and Bengali). It is being arranged to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular form of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is being developed to help students to prepare for entrance and competitive examination, to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. The pilot project is devising a framework suitable for future scale up with respect to content volume and diversity to become a full-blown National Digital Library of India over time. Bharatawaniproject
Bharatavani is a project with an objective of delivering knowledge in and about all the languages in India in multimedia formats through an online portal..The portal www.bharatavani.in and Bharatavani Android App have been launched on 25th May 2016. The Central Institute of Indian Languages(CIIL), Mysuru is implementing the project. The idea of this project is to make India a Open Knowledge Society in the era of Digital India.In the first year 22 Scheduled languages ( Assamese, Bengali, Bodo,Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, kannada, kashmiri, konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri,Maithili, marathi, Nepali, Odla, Punjabi, Santali, Sanskrit, sindhi, Tamil, Telegu and Urdu) will be covered. Thereafter, other languages will be covered in a phased manner.

World Digital LibraryWorld Digital Library proposed by Librarian of Congress James H. Billington in a 2005 speech to the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO. It involves public research institutions and libraries working with private organizations to digitize significant primary materials from institutions worldwide. It aims to make available on the Internet, free of charge and in multilingual format, significant primary materials from cultures around the world, including manuscripts, maps, rare books, and other cultural materials. The documents published from 500 AD onwards are included. Number of institutions from all over the World joined this project.
Hathi Trust Digital LibraryMission: The mission of HathiTrust is to contribute to the common good by collecting, organizing, preserving, communicating, and sharing the record of human knowledge. HathiTrust Digital Library is a digital preservation repository and highly functional access platform. It provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and in copyright content from a variety of sources, including Google, the Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives. The partners ensure the reliability and efficiency of the digital library by relying on community standards and best practices, developing policies and procedures to manage content and services at scale, and maintaining a modular, open infrastructure. HathiTrust began in 2008 as a collaboration of the universities of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation and the University of California system to establish a repository to archive and share their digitized collections. HathiTrust has quickly expanded to include additional partners and to provide those partners with an easy means to archive their digital content.
E-GyanKoshE-GyanKosh a National Digital Repository to store, index, preserve, distribute and share the digital learning resources developed by the Open and Distance Learning Institutions in the country. Items in eGyanKosh are protected by copyright, with all rights reserved by IGNOU, unless otherwise indicated. To access the items in repository registration is required. Registration is free.
